The Best Games That Let You Kill Robots And AI-Powered Monsters

PICTURE: Bethesda

Long ago the world burned and civilization destroyed, the robots of Fallout continue to function. Even centuries after the Earth is about to be destroyed by nukes and humanity is barely hanging on, AI-powered robots at the height of humanity roam the wilderness and continue to do their jobs.

Some might say they are impressively dedicated. I think it shows how stupid and horrible these robots are. They can’t even say that the world has ended, they have no thought of doing what they are programmed to do. They cannot create art, invent anything, or do themselves any good to humanity because they are just tools that we create.

And on Fallout, they are not only idiots who are still trying to run the restaurants after the nukes fall, but also dangerous enemies. Their AI-powered brains — unable to understand context, history, or emotion — attack most humans on sight. Ironic, isn’t it, that robots and AI in Fallout The universe can kill us all and destroy everything we create if they themselves are our creations? Anyway, grab a laser rifle and double tap any robobrains you see Fallout 3. They deserve it. —Zack Zwiezen
