Social Security checks in July 2023: Dates and amounts

Every month, the Social Security Administration issued millions in compensation to their beneficiaries, many of whom were retired workers.

Social Security checks in July 2023 | Payment Schedule

Bills are issued monthly, but the specific receipt date depends on the beneficiary’s date of birth. Individuals born between The 1st and 10th of the month will receive their checks on the second Wednesday of the month. the born between the 11th and 20th receive their payments on the third Wednesdaywhile those born between The 21st and 31st will receive their checks on the last Wednesday of the month.

Please note that this payment schedule does not apply to individual recipients Additional Security Income (SSI). They will receive their checks at the beginning of the month, regardless of their date of birth. If the payment day falls on a weekend, it will be moved to the previous business day. Beneficiaries who Retirees prior to May 1997 are also not included in the schedule based on the recipient’s date of birth and will instead receive their checks within the first week of each month.

  • June 30: SSI recipients (July payment)
  • July 3: Recipients who began receiving payments before May 1997
  • July 12: Beneficiaries with birth date between 1st and 10th day
  • July 19: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between July 11 and 20
  • July 26: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between 21 and 31

How much is the average Social Security check?

Data provided by the SSA from May will provide insights into how much beneficiaries can expect to receive next month. In May, the SSA mails Social Security checks to 66 million peopleWHERE 74 percent retired workers. the average check totals 1,836.06, with the highest benefit amount for this year $4,555.

For SSI recipients, the monthly average is 675.10. The biggest benefit for this program is $914 per month and up to $1,371 for married couples filing their taxes jointly.
